5 Tips for a Whiter and Brighter Smile

There is nothing better than someone giving you a bright beautiful smile, be it someone who is serving you your morning latte, someone you have a crush on, and especially if it is a lovely morning smile from the love of your life. We all want to return that smile to show that we appreciate their friendliness, but some of us are not as comfortable with how bright our smile is and can be so self conscious about the quality of our smile that we refrain from returning one to the lovely person that just smiled at us. If this sounds like you, then here are 5 tips for a whiter and brighter smile.

1. Quit Smoking

This is probably one of the most important of the 5 tips for a whiter brighter smile. Smoking does nothing for your smile but damage it. Also, if you think smoking does not make your teeth look that bad, look at the back of your bottom teeth, you will see the kind of stains smoking can leave.

2. Stay Hydrated.

Keeping the inside of your mouth moist is key to helping your teeth stay healthy looking. The saliva in your mouth helps a lot with the breaking down and diluting of acid contents in food and drinks. So drinking plenty of water will absolutely help with the all round health of your teeth and especially the brightness of your smile.

3. Watch What you Eat and Drink

If a white smile is something you are passionate about, there are certain foods you can avoid. Red wine and coffee are obvious, but also citrus fruit can eat away at the outer enamel and leave teeth looking a tad yellow.

4. Toothpaste and Strips

It is never a bad idea to change up your toothpaste if you are not getting the results you want. Look into some of the whitening toothpastes out there and see what is right for you. The same goes for those over the counter whitening strips.

5. Go to a professional.

If nothing is giving you the results you want, a visit to a good dentist is never a bad idea. It is also a good way to jump start your smile if you feel it is needed.

So, there are the 5 tips for a whiter and brighter smile. If you do not have a New Westminster Dentist at the moment, you can call the people at Halo Dental to see what they can do for you.

Me and my family love coming to this dentist. We never feel uncomfortable. We have had many other dentists in the past but Halo is our favourite. We love the receptionist, Sukhi, she is very kind and always has a smile on her face. She greats everyone with the same kindness and makes them feel good. All around everyone I have met at Halo are kind and make sure you are the number 1 priority. We always feel like we are with family when we go to Halo. I would highly recommend coming to Halo Dental because they care about each and everyone of their clients. We will always continue to go to Halo Dental as long as we live.

The best clinic I have been so far. I have been in Canada from last 29 years and could not find a good dentist. Just move to New Westminster two years ago and visited the Dentist in the community. Dr. Bajaj was very very professional and caring. I would recommend her to every one.
