Tips to Get Rid of Toothache

Are you experiencing pain or discomfort with your teeth? There are few areas of the body that provide a worse sensation than trouble with your teeth, so here are four top tips to get rid of toothache.

Tip 1: Visit the dentist as soon as possible

While we will cover other tips that might help alleviate or temporarily dull a toothache, when it comes to the most important of the tips to get rid of toothache, visiting a dentist is certainly number one.
A toothache is often a sign of a deeper issue with your teeth, meaning that even if it temporarily goes away, the root cause will still remain. Visiting a dentist might allow you to catch the problem before it develops any further, however, allowing you to get it resolved far more easily and less intrusively.

The dentist themselves are also able to provide further advice and tips to get rid of toothache, along with performing any treatment that is required. Although they are no substitute for visiting a dentist, the following techniques might help to manage the pain and discomfort, at least until you are able to visit your dentist.

Tip 2: Salt water wash

One of the classic tips to get rid of toothache is to rinse your mouth with a warm salt water wash. Combine warm water with a spoonful of salt and swish around your mouth, which should help to provide light relief to the area. A salt water wash is a simple and quick temporary fix, with most people having access to salt and warm water in their household.

Tip 3: Avoid extreme temperatures

Another of our tips to get rid of toothache, and a preventative approach you can take if you are experiencing discomfort, is to avoid extreme temperatures where possible. This includes particularly hot, or cold, drinks and foods, as this can bring on additional pain when consumed. This is certainly not a long-term solution, however, with a visit to your dentist highly recommended to determine the root cause.

Tip 4: Pain relief

One of the most popular tips to get rid of toothache is to take pain relief, often in the form of over the counter products.

Again, this may help temporarily, though booking a trip to your dentist is greatly urged, allowing them to discover and treat the cause behind the pain, rather than covering it up with pain relief.

Me and my family love coming to this dentist. We never feel uncomfortable. We have had many other dentists in the past but Halo is our favourite. We love the receptionist, Sukhi, she is very kind and always has a smile on her face. She greats everyone with the same kindness and makes them feel good. All around everyone I have met at Halo are kind and make sure you are the number 1 priority. We always feel like we are with family when we go to Halo. I would highly recommend coming to Halo Dental because they care about each and everyone of their clients. We will always continue to go to Halo Dental as long as we live.

The best clinic I have been so far. I have been in Canada from last 29 years and could not find a good dentist. Just move to New Westminster two years ago and visited the Dentist in the community. Dr. Bajaj was very very professional and caring. I would recommend her to every one.
